Robert P. Balan brings five decades of global markets expertise to market and options analytics. His multidisciplinary foundation—Mining Engineering, Computer Science, M.S. in Quantitative Finance, and Economics—launched a distinguished career spanning commodities, FX, and macro strategy.
As a pioneering voice in institutional FX analysis, Robert authored the first globally-distributed currency commentary while at Lloyds Bank International Geneva, becoming the most-accessed analyst on Reuters and Telerate networks (1988-1994). His career encompasses senior roles at Swiss Bank Corporation, UBS, and Bank of America as Head of Technical Research and Proprietary Trading across London, New York, Toronto, and Zurich.
Returning to Switzerland in 2004, Robert served as Head of Technical Research for Swiss Life Asset Management and Chief Market Strategist at Diapason Commodities Management, integrating macroeconomic fundamentals with technical analysis. His 1988 book on Elliott Wave Principle, recognized by the London Society of Technical Analysts as the definitive work on the subject, was donated to public domain in 1992.
Currently based in Zurich, Robert leads Predictive Analytic Models (PAM), Seeking Alpha's top-rated trading analytics service, applying his institutional expertise to options market microstructure and liquidity-driven strategies. Member, National Association for Business Economics (NABE).
